When I saw that the temperature was as high as -3, I estimated the clothes I would need quite poorly.  It was the hands where I needed more insulation. I wore only the thin gloves with push-button tips on the thumbs and index fingers.  I can operate my iPod/iPhone while wearing these gloves.

At -3 C, we need not worry greatly about frost bite. I even had bare shin/calf skin below my nylon yellow mid-calf shorts.

Back to Moscow.  When I turned on my computer, nothing appeared on the screen although the buttons were lit.  The first place I went to diagnose the problem told me $300 to fix it as he simply put the screws back in with an attitude, “only a lunatic would fix this old thing for $300.”  I talked my boss who told me about a HUGE radio products market.  The place is massive.  There is a single corridor that stretches to the horizon with shops that all sell the same thing—cell phones and laptop computers.  There are a couple repair places sprinkled throughout.  I found a couple places—the second one offered to fix my machine for $150 with a three month guarantee.  He was even the OWNER of the shop—not a hired flunky.  So that’s why I haven’t added anything in a few days.

Above is a panoramic picture that I took with my iPod at the radio market. Such a pic doesn’t work very well when you are in close quarters.  As you can see, the woman with the red hat shows up several times as she is walking on the left side, and then again when she stops to look at something on the right.

Oh, man!  Running up these stairs was one of the toughest things in life.  I was really at the end of my rope by the end.  My legs were full of the densest lead.

I ran the steps on these days because outside was full of ice and snow.

Today, I ran to dynamic meditation.  As usual, we were a room full of interesting people.  I guess running through the snow must have made me work because the time for the ‘up the stairs’ exercise is terrible.  I remember the first time I went to dynamic meditation—I came home and broke the record for the stair climb.
