Words  157
Ran along the same route, trying to finish in less than 60 minutes.  On the way back, I took the bike trail from the ice cream shop and then along 62nd and back through Dewey Park.

61 minute loop

Words  129
Ran the same route into town along a bike path, under Merle Hay and then around toward Dad’s place.  Then I ran back to Merle Hay to Dewey Park to complete the circle.  Body felt very good.  I did very little pausing—only to tie my shoe and wipe my face, and once to stretch (very necessary).

Words  84

Ran towards town and around under Merle Hay Road—the same route I tried to run in the dark.  All was well.  I ran a sprint near Dad’s place.

Night running

Words  80

One of my sister’s neighbors explained a long route to me.  The unfortunate thing was that when I got south into the city, the trees became so thick that I couldn’t we the road anymore.

quarter mile success in Nebraska

Words  234
Today was a great day.  We had biked past the elementary school last night so I knew where the monkey bars were.  Thus, I was able to do  a couple sets of pull-ups.  On the way back, I also ran past the high school track so I was able to run a ‘quick’ quarter mile.  I ran less than a half second slower than 1:15.  As I continued to run afterwards, I was thinking, “Man, if I had just pushed it a bit more, I’m sure I would’ve beat 75 seconds.”

Las Vegas

Words 111

The flatness of Vegas was a welcome venue for the run this morning.  It was also wildly hot…even at 8 in the morning.  I was wondering if there is such a thing as the Las Vegas Marathon.

to Las Vegas

Words 50
The final run in California was a good one.  My knees felt better, no pain.  Maybe because it was completely flat.  I have read that the Moscow Marathon is also flat.  Seems to bode well for success.

We begin the trip home today.  Tonight we will be in Las Vegas.

Words 161
My knees were hurting a bit today.  I’m starting to have some doubts about the Moscow marathon.  Maybe if I get some new shoes, things will be better.  The shoes I am using were old and worn out two years ago.

Saylorville Lake

Words 86

I again ran along the river today, but I drove to the beginning so as to avoid the heaver traffic.  I biked a few miles and then locked the bike and ran.  I ran a couple one-minute sprints and then decided  to run some quarter miles, as they are marked on the trail.

birds singing along the river

Words 194
A long run today.  My legs were hurting at times…I even walked a bit.  I ran along the road about 3 miles to the trail that goes along the river.  When I arrived at the river, the trail was the most beautiful, comfortable place I have ever run.

Words 61

Beautiful weather…beautiful little town…comfortable house.  Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me was also excellent.  Yesterday, I dropped the boys off at camp.  Both of them were looking forward to the day.  Oskar asked the counselors questions about the schedule, about swimming, and about everything else.  They both chose top bunks.

Words 242
Maxim eagerly agreed when I suggested that we go for a run this morning.  We walked/ran around the area and had a good time.  We went out and as we were nearing the house on the way back, we noticed that there were bicyclers on the road.
