                So I guess the pain in the arm when doing pull-ups may be receding. Yesterday, I did 5 sets of 4 pull-ups when I ran in the park.  I’m going to ease back into it.  I have another problem in the fact that I have some mysterious infection in my left little toe. I went to the doctor on Thursday—she said we couldn’t be sure that it was not simple trauma—maybe I stubbed it on something.  I didn’t remember anything, but I still wasn’t sure if it was getting worse. I’m always in favor of NOT doing anything.

So…I broke one record this morning. It was running up and down the steps at the university. I wondered the other day why I had not been timing myself during this little jaunt. Now, I am.  I am not running the “long sprint downhill” that I was doing in the middle of Rruga Kavaja—there was too much car exhaust there.  I’ve found a better route.

I’ve been doing errands lately as I run around.  Needed to repair the car, get take some photos for an identification badge, look for an apartment…   So I haven’t been running as much.  I can see that I am packing some fat around the belly.  I can’t understand how that if possible, really, because I don’t eat much.  I guess the odd packet of chips I’ve eaten must go straight to my waistline.  Of course, there are the one or two cookies that I might take from a friend.  Ah, there is the ice cream that I eat with the boys.

16 May
                Biked to the lake today. Great run around there. What’s more, a potential new student called while I was running and we set up a meeting.  I asked, “Well, if you won’t be bothered when I’m all sweaty, we can do it now.”  Worked out well.
                Ended the day throwing the frisbee around, eating at a fish restaurant, and watching Ishtar with a buddy.  What could be better?

            The 19-second barrier, broken today!! I never considered trying to break 19-seconds.  I was content with getting something better than 20-seconds—a nice round number...it was pretty.  I guess I puched myself a bit more today. I was aware of the slippage of my shoes on the linolium stair surface.  Maybe it was because I was putting some more effort into it.
