Though the dates on this run and the next run are seven days apart, I haven’t rested or a week.  I haven’t been running seriously, and during the most recent days, I have suffered through a running nose, sore throat, laryngitis, etc.  I’ve been resting and drinking tea with lemon, warm milk with honey, and fruit juice.  I wanted to be sure that I my voice would be strong enough to perform yesterday.
We succeeded in pulling off our performance.  I was in three short skits, and I sang the final song.  In general, the song was quite unprofessional and messed up, but everyone seemed to be genuine in their praise.

The reason I haven’t added to the blog in such a long time is that I have not had my computer at home.  I still don’t have the movie-making program, so those won’t be up for a while.

I thought I was running the loop quickly. A couple times in mid-run, I consciously thought, "You can push harder."  Such thoughts tell me that I was loafing—obviously. I rose up to stride on my toes. At one point, a car pulled out in front of me; I had adjust my path to squeeze by. I'm sure that cost me several seconds. As the details above show, I didn't break any records. The thought crossed my mind that the 1.14 of a couple weeks ago may have been an error.

Waiting to get onto a packed train last night, I noticed that a fellow passenger stood at least a foot taller than the rest of the riders.  The great mass of heads formed a gently undulating carpet of hair and stocking hats. This dude, however, could look across the sea and view any danger that might be coming. What an interesting perspective!  This reminds me of the impression my dad took away from Mexico.  He said that it is great to be taller than the average height.

sunny

Beautiful sunny morning. Began sprint just a tad slumpy, though the surface of the asphalt was absolutely clear and full of traction like a fly strip. About half-way round the loop, exhilaration filled my soul. Lately, I've been trying to learn how a runner would make his legs move more like pistons.  I usually run with something in my ears making music or a podcast.  Sometimes, though, I can hear my feet touching the pavement. Instead of step...step...step...step, I wondered if I could make it  step.step.step.step.step?  With the exhilaration this morning, it started to happen. My ear phones had both fallen out of my ears so the political gabfest did not interfere with sounds of my strides. I tried to step lightly with my toes.
Did all this introspection and adjustment lead to success?  Depends on your POV and your definition of success. The time was 1.21.38—not a record by any stretch--but enjoyment?  Yes.
