After
only three hours of sleep, I ran around Johnston, from Rhonda’s to Peggy’s to
Dad’s. I walked while talking on the
phone to Russia for 20 minutes. It was a
great run.
The confusing part if the Dewey
sprint. Sunday, I ran it in 1:03 while
feeling like my legs were awkward and infirm.
I felt like I was nearly limping along—if someone was watching me, they
would have seen someone with deficiencies.
Today, however, my legs felt better—not
100%, but close—and I was raring to go. I ran most of the way on my toes while
throwing my arms. I was even thinking
that I would make it in under 1 minute.
I was shocked to see nearly 3 seconds added to my result from
Sunday! I’m thinking that beginning and
ending points may not be consistent.

This
was the evening of the going away party for the boys and I. Many people attended with great success and
fun.
Here
are some of the well-wishers:

We stayed in a sport hotel last night. I used the treadmill and the rowing machine,
and I did some pull-ups and other tension exercises. Then I ran to the agency that organizes and
gets Russian visas. I walked in speaking
English, and the woman said, “Oh, is speak no English.” I asked if she spoke Russian.
“Of
course!” she answers. We had a fine
time.
Four
hours later, I returned to find my passport with a fresh 3-year multiple entry
visa inside. OOO-rah!
