So today, I made a run around the ring road to Mother
Teresa Square and the steps in front of the university. Today, is did practically no sprinting—only
one 1-minute sprint near the end of my run.
The decrease in sprinting is because my legs are extremely tight. I’ve been doing yoga lately in an effort to
loosen up my legs. They feel like tree
trunks when I begin to sprint.
In addition, when I bend down from the waist as
part of a Sun Salutation, and also part of a ‘downward dog’, I can really feel
the muscles screaming. I’m hoping that
soon, my legs will open up and allow real movement.
Another small amount of sprinting was when I ran up the 4
flights of stairs to my apartment. I
finished in 20.05 seconds. This is
probably the 4th fastest time on record and only 5 hundredths of a
second above my goal of 20 seconds—although it is a lengthy .35 seconds slower
than my all-time record for the distance.
I’m thinking lately that I my body parts may be reaching
the limit of their sprinting capacity. Maybe I will have to accept the fact
that I my legs are tired of sprinting and that I may have to give that part
up.
