So…I
broke one record this morning. It was running up and down the steps at the
university. I wondered the other day why I had not been timing myself during this
little jaunt. Now, I am. I am not
running the “long sprint downhill” that I was doing in the middle of Rruga
Kavaja—there was too much car exhaust there.
I’ve found a better route.
Now I have a cool sprint in the middle of the run. And it demands more of me since it takes, so far at least, more than 1 minute and 25 seconds. The quick bit up the 4 flights is practically not worth thinking about (but I do anyway). I’m thinking that I will try to find someone to go on the jog with me so they can take a video. Then I can explain all about how interesting it is because I need to slow down, turn around, dodge the cups and cigarette butts, etc. This route, up and down the stairs, breaks up the effort. Today, at the mid-run point, I ran from one set of steps to the other. I tried to pore it on here, but I either didn’t have much success, or there is not enough distance to make a difference, because I bested my old record by .5 seconds. In actuality, I didn’t think I had done so well. Half a second in the world of sprints at the top of your game is quite an accomplishment.

Though
the pull-ups again today were a pair of 2s, I feel like the pain is receding.
In a brief time, I think I will be able to do a significant amount of pull-ups.
There is a problem, though. The little toe on my left foot is giving me pain.
The doctor said that it is too early to determine whether it is an infection,
so I will just hope that it is some kind of trauma—injury. I’m afraid that it
is in fact an infection, because it is truly getting worse. L
