feedback

From a reader:

James, tell me how far in yards (feet) you are running and what are the miraculous times you run this distance in.  I have a hard time rejoicing with you when I don't know the extent of your accomplishments.  You've probably told us but tell me again.

I don’t know the distance, and it doesn’t matter.  Not to me, anyway. I am competing against myself
(possibly the only person I can reliably keep up with), and I’m winning.  Today, I broke 1-minute by .14 of a second—enough time to say wh—the first part of “What a super job!”  It was like Michael Phelps coming from behind to win the gold medal.  Not really…I was not in the water, I had no competition, I wasn’t in the Olympics.  But it still felt nice.

But really, 5 months ago, my goal was to run the same distance in 65 seconds.  Now, it’s 60 seconds.  That’s a 8% faster.  I’m sure you are thinking that is no big deal.  Well when you are running as fast as possible for 60 seconds, your whole body is screaming for relief.
