first with ipod

Words 171
Today I remembered to start my iPod running program for the first time. I didn’t use all the capabilities—I figure I will wait with that until I can leave the gloves and plastic pants at home.  As it is, I was able to learn exactly how far I have been running.  4.6 miles.
I covered this distance in 41 minutes—this includes the not insignificant amount of time I spent doing pull-ups, squats, and leg ups.  I’m not entirely sure of the permutations involved with the information because I understood it to say that I covered the first mile at a pace of 6:17 per mile.  Considering that I ran a 5K last fall at a pace of 6:40, I see a disconnect.
I went slowly many places today because the temperature is right at freezing, and it was raining. Everything was super slippery, there were several large puddles, and the snow was covered with ice.  Now, 2 hours later, the snow is coming down heavily.  What a fun day!
