.4 seconds
today meant that I had to run the full 16 flights in our apartment building. Ugh. I
certainly can’t blame people who necessitate dodging of pedestrians and dogs—there
were only two people on the entire sprint area.
I did think ,
though that my neck might be looking strained—so maybe if I think about how I am being perceived, it will detract from my performance. I also reached over to find the watch some 5 steps before the finish. I must stop this practice.

I’ve just
tested my watch. I started it and
stopped the stop watch as quickly as possible.
I did it in .21 seconds. So I
guess .4 is a perceivable amount of time, but it’s not much. I just have to push myself ALL THE TIME that I am
running the sprint.
The keen
observer of the info above will see that I did only 7 pull-ups during a mid-run
stop, and at the end, I didn’t do 13, which I intended. I simply didn’t have the muster. I was wearing gloves because of the 2 degree
weather—that may have hindered my pull-ups a bit.
During the
leg-ups, I tried the strategy of thinking about something else. 19 is a whole lot of reps…so I consciously
thought about something else while my brain carried on counting. It was great.
I count in Russian—have done for 27 years—ever since I first learned how
to say the numbers in Russian.
