I pulled my
legs up higher today on the leg ups. So
even though it is mostly an abdominal exercise, my hamstrings were stressed at
the upper limit, and even my quads were feeling it. With a beginning
temperature of 4 degrees, I left my plastic pants at home for the first time
since October.
I’m doing the pull-ups with no body-boosting. I wonder if I’ll be able to do more in the future. I’m reading a book titled minimalism—live a meaningful life, by Milburn and Nicodemus. In the book, one of them explains his daily exercise routine. It’s remarkably similar to mine except that he does not run. He tried running, but couldn’t make it work for him. He does 18 minutes of exercise—push-ups, pull-ups, squats, and shoulder presses. I wish I knew exactly what he means by shoulder presses, but I can imagine. He says he can do 30 pull-ups. Though the picture on the front looks like guys with large biceps, I’m skeptical about 30.
It’s going
to be tough to break records on the 6 floors (we’re dealing with such small
time in the first place) —but I am going to continue my reward. If I get sub 1:01 in the sprint, I don’t have
to climb all 16 flights. The sprint
takes all my effort. I love to see all
those zeros.
On the route today, I saw my favorite breed of dog, the Bernese mountain dog. I like to call them the Snickers dog. They look delicious.
