These two runs were completed in
somewhat colder weather, but I will not dwell on this fact. The locations of everyone else who might be
reading this blog seem to be much colder.
Suffice it to say that yesterday, I wore a couple socks on my hands
(that worked out nicely), and today I wore a pair of hand knitted mittens (they ended up in my pocket because they were too warm).
Yesterday, I was worried that I
wouldn’t make my goal of 60 seconds for the final sprint. My mind and body were quite sluggish. I ended up giving just the right amount of
effort, though, and succeeded by 65 one-hundredths of a second. Alternatively,
today, I thought I was running with the wind.
I was even toying with the possibility that I might make a record. Oh, how our mind can play games
with us! Not only no record, but I
finished more poorly than yesterday, less than half a second better than my
goal.
During the middle of the run during
the last two days, I completed the first set of 15 pull-ups and then ran
to “the university” and ran up and down the steps. Good exercise.
Oskar has
been working on a trampoline flip. I
grew up with a trampoline, and I don’t think I was able to do a flip until after high
school. I’ve tried to give hints to him
and to his brother—bend your knees, etc.
I don’t know if I have been of any help.
Today, he succeeded! See the 1
min. 51 sec. video below:
