The
run down the dam was pretty good, the best so far, though my records appear to
indicate that I ran faster—1:43.14—on the 5th of May. I believe now that on that day, I must have
gotten the ending point incorrect.
There is no way at that time I should have run more than 3 seconds faster than I did today. I was feeling good and running well.

When I got to the classic sprint, I was using some brain
energy worrying about the pain in my legs; and I was not consciously thinking
about running on my toes and lifting my knees. Hopefully, these two points of
exercise are, or will be, ingrained in my brain soon, so that I don’t have to
think about it for it to happen. What I am saying is that the distractions
probably were the cause of my poor performance on the classic sprint. Of course, this ‘poor’ performance is all
relative. If I had run such a time two months ago, I would have been jumping
for joy.
