I ran along a river nearby.  I didn’t do any sprints because I want to give my legs and all some more healing.
99% of the time I’m running, I’m listening to something on my iPod.  Sometimes, I think that I am missing out on nature.  Today, while listening to Sarah Jones give a TED talk that sounds more like a stand-up routine.  I guess there were enough breaks in the talk that I heard the frogs and birds.  How lovely!  They were all around me, and their lustful exaltations were invigorating.
Sunday night in Gorky Park, I heard a bird singing and chattering.  He sounded like a teen ager trying to disrupt history class in the back of the room.

Quite a disappointment today. I went out for orange juice because I woke up with the beginnings of a sore throat or something.  I trotted to the 24-hour store and dropped the cartons some swings inside the loop.  I ran the same sprint as always—this time running on the toes at the beginning

From the start, I ran on my toes and I threw my arms.  There is still small pain in several parts of my body, so I ran only 10 minutes out and 10 minutes back before sprinting and buying some bananas and yogurt. You can see above that I came within a fraction of a second of a new record for the loop.

Good run today.  You will see from the time of the loop that I achieved a fine finish.  Last night, I wrote  how I was not running on my toes when I thought about throwing my arms.  About halfway around, I remembered to run on the toes.  I think it really helped. I’ll try to do better next time.  Maybe I will break the record of 1:14.xx.

As I ran the final loop, I consciously swung my arms back and forth.  But at the same time, I have no memory of running on my toes.  It takes practice to bring it all together.  I think I have to specifically THINK about doing something often enough until it becomes habit, then I’ll do it by muscle memory like playing the guitar (which I know a bit about), or typing (which I can do very well).

A pleasantly cool morning today.  I ran through an area that could be called a park, along a river.  Birds singing, a light breeze, white blossoms in all their glory—an idyllic scene.
At one point, I was accosted by an 8-inch high Jack Russell Terrier.  He began at the top of the hill and charged at me as I was running along the bottom.

Today was a fantastic run.  Almost painless.  The time for the inside loop gives me that idea that my record of 1:14.87 on 16 March, may not be a mistake.  I was still weary enough when I got ‘round to the steps that I didn’t achieve the 32 seconds and change of late.
