Quite a
disappointment today. I went out for orange juice because I woke up with the
beginnings of a sore throat or something.
I trotted to the 24-hour store and dropped the cartons some swings
inside the loop. I ran the same sprint
as always—this time running on the toes at the beginning
(I’m not sure if I was doing it the whole way—that’s why I need the muscle memory that I mentioned a couple days ago) and throwing the arms. I THOUGHT I was running well—at record pace, even. My legs started to get really heavy, but I’ve felt this before, and at times when I’ve achieved something great.

My legs started to get really heavy, but I’ve felt this before, and at times when I’ve achieved something great.
I ended with
a time that was nearly .5 seconds slower than my best. I’m thinking again that that 1:14.87 time on
March 17 may have been a mistake. BUT,
if it WAS a mistake, maybe I wouldn’t be trying so hard to beat it now. And look how close I’m getting to that
time. So…if I was a mistake, it was a
fortunate mistake. It's all in the mind.
