The largest amount of snow on the ground for any run so far. The reason—it’s still snowing and the large grounds keeping crew that does a great job of clearing snow, has not had enough time to work. I pushed it very seriously during the sprint, but still came up slow—the slippage is definitely the reason.
I wrote in here once about weather being too cold to snow. Well, these last few days provide another example of this phenomena. It’s only a couple degrees C below freezing, and we get a heap of snow. Remarkable, as far as I’m concerned.
I’ve also noticed that Iowa is now colder than Moscow. It’s near 0 F there which is truly cold. Makes me feel good because it is a reason that global warming—while I know that it is true—has not won the war.
At the end of the run, I put on my ‘sprint’ playlist. “What I Like About You” by the Romantics, “Jackie Don Tucker” by Toby Keith, and “Roy G. Biv” by They Might Be Giants.” My spirits soared and my feet took off. I had been listening to Talk of the Nation.
Music is amazing.
